Michele Chiarlo Gavi 'Rovereto', Piedmont

Rovereto is one of the very few historic Crus of Gavi and “its toponym may derive from the presence of ancient oak forests whose leaves have and unmistakeable shape and the clay soil is rich in iron. This fitted in well with our preference for the leaves and, with our orange period, it brought to mind autumn, the woods, picking mushrooms while rummaging with the tip of the stick, between just fallen leaves and other old ones”.
